SWEETER Winter Computing Festival 2023
Overview
The SWEETER cyberteam is dedicated to promoting regional cyber expertise encompassing partners located across Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. It unites a collection of institutions of higher learning, that include Texas A&M University, the University of Texas at Austin, Prairie View A&M University, New Mexico State University, University of Arizona, University of Texas at San Antonio, Texas A&M San Antonio and West Texas A&M University. Our goals include enabling peer-to-peer research support, organizing on-premise workshops, and building research collaborations. We will be organizing a training session in cyberinfrastructure technologies. Attendees from the SWEETER region will be prioritized.
Program:
The Winter Computing Festival covers a wide range of topics ranging from training to structured discussions targeting individuals in managerial and resource providing positions. Attendees are welcome to participate in all of the sessions, but we understand that some of the scheduled activities might be less informative to some registrants. We understand if you choose to attend only portions of the festival applicable to your current position.
Research and Training Topics:
- AI/ML on the new Launch Supercomputer
- Programming in CUDA (previous coding experience in C/C++ or Fortran required)
- Data Science in R - Introductory
- Digital Poster Session
- Overview of the national computing ecosystem and supporting community organizations
- Writing proposals for Computing Technologies
- Discussing new technologies
